Job summary

Allied Universal is seeking a part-time Security Officer in Arlington, VA. You will patrol, monitor access, and respond to incidents while delivering strong customer service to employees, visitors, and contractors.

The role requires a background in security with 3+ years of related experience or a college degree, plus a DoD Secret Clearance. A Guard Card/license and CPR certification are preferred. Shift schedule includes daytime and evenings.

Qualifications

• 3+ years’ combined law enforcement, military, and/or security-related experience or a college degree.
• Active DoD Secret Clearance.
• Guard Card/License preferred.
• State/municipal security license preferred.
• CPR Certification preferred.
• 18+ for unarmed roles; 21+ for armed roles.
• Background check and drug screen required by employment.
• Driver’s license required for driving roles.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to employees, visitors, and contractors while carrying out security procedures and emergency response activities.
• Monitor access points and verify credentials in accordance with site procedures; report concerns.
• Respond to incidents, alarms, and critical situations following escalation and reporting protocols.
• Conduct regular unarmed patrols of facility, grounds, parking areas, and perimeter to deter unauthorized activity.
• Document actions with logs, incident reports, and shift handoffs per site requirements.

What You'll Do:

• Provide customer service to employees, visitors, and contractors at a technology, media, and telecommunications location while carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and emergency response activities as appropriate.
• Monitor access points, verify visitor and contractor credentials in accordance with site procedures, and report access concerns to the appropriate personnel.
• Respond to incidents, alarms, and critical situations in a calm, professional, problem-solving manner, following established escalation and reporting protocols.
• Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols of the facility, grounds, parking areas, and perimeter to help deter unauthorized activity and identify security-related concerns.
• Complete accurate activity logs, incident reports, and shift handoff communications in accordance with Allied Universal and site requirements.

Minimum Requirements:

• Possess 3+ years’ combined law enforcement, military, and/or security-related experience or a college degree.
• Possess an active DoD Secret Clearance.
• A Guard Card/License is preferred.
• A state, county, or city-issued security-related license is preferred.
• CPR Certification is preferred.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
