Job summary

Allied Universal is seeking a Part Time Security Officer in Des Moines, IA. You will provide customer service, perform perimeter patrols, monitor access points, and respond to incidents with professional, calm problem‑solving.

You will produce incident reports and logs to keep leadership informed of security activity. This role offers flexible scheduling (Tue/Wed night shifts) and the opportunity to work across diverse sites in a dynamic team environment.

Qualifications

• Provide customer service to clients, employees, contractors, and visitors by carrying out security‑related procedures.
• Conduct regular and random patrols of food production, warehouse, shipping and receiving, parking, and perimeter areas.
• Monitor access points and verify authorization for employees, visitors, contractors, and deliveries.
• Respond to incidents, alarms, and critical situations in a calm, professional, problem‑solving manner, escalating concerns according to established protocols.
• Prepare accurate incident reports, activity logs, and shift documentation, and communicate relevant information to leadership.

As an Unarmed Patrol Officer with Allied Universal at a food and beverage location, you will conduct routine patrols, maintain a visible presence to help deter incidents, monitor assigned areas, and report security-related concerns. You will deliver outstanding customer service, communicate professionally with employees and visitors, and support a caring, reliable team that acts with integrity.

• Tue 10:00 PM - 06:00 AM
• Wed 10:00 PM - 06:00 AM

What You'll Do:

Minimum Requirements:

• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
