Job summary

Allied Universal is seeking a part-time Security Guard in Des Moines, IA to patrol and protect a logistics and distribution site. You will provide customer service, deter unauthorized activity, monitor access, and respond to incidents while maintaining professional conduct and a people-first approach.

This role offers flexible scheduling (DayTime, Sat, Sun) and pays $16.08 per hour, with training and career growth opportunities within a leading security services company.

Qualifications

• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to personnel, drivers, visitors, and/or vendors at a logistics and distribution location by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities.
• Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols of loading docks, trailer yards, parking areas, access points, warehouse perimeters, and other assigned areas to help deter unauthorized activity and report observed concerns.
• Monitor access to the location by verifying credentials, directing authorized visitors and delivery personnel, and maintaining required visitor and vehicle records.
• Respond to incidents, alarms, and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner; notify appropriate personnel and document actions taken in accordance with site procedures.
• Observe and report unusual activity, facility hazards, damaged property, and policy violations to site management and/or Allied Universal leadership.
