Job summary

Allied Universal is seeking a part‑time Security Officer for a patrol route in Whittier, CA. You will provide security and excellent customer service while patrolling a variety of sites, including cultural institutions, and respond to incidents as needed.

Qualifications

• At least one year of security‑related experience is required.
• A valid driver’s license is required.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• A background check will be conducted as per law.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to visitors, families, staff, and vendors by carrying out site‑specific security procedures.
• Respond to incidents, visitor concerns, and critical situations calmly and professionally.
• Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols of grounds, buildings, and parking areas to deter unauthorized activity.
• Monitor access points and visitor activity in accordance with site policies.
• Document observations, incidents, and patrol activities promptly and accurately.

As a Security Officer at a cultural institution, you will conduct routine patrols, operate a vehicle as part of this driving post, maintain a visible presence to help deter incidents, and provide exceptional customer service and communication. Position Type: Part Time

Pay Rate: $22.03 / Hour

Job Schedule:

• Wed 02:00 PM - 10:30 PM
• Thur 02:00 PM - 10:30 PM

What You’ll Do:

• Provide customer service to visitors, families, staff, and vendors by carrying out site‑specific security-related procedures and, when appropriate, emergency response activities.
• Respond to incidents, visitor concerns, and critical situations in a calm, professional, problem‑solving manner, including providing directions and communicating with site contacts and/or emergency responders.
• Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols of grounds, memorial areas, buildings, parking areas, and perimeter locations to help deter unauthorized activity and report unusual conditions.
• Monitor access points and visitor activity in accordance with site policies, helping maintain orderly operations during services, events, and daily visitation.
• Document observations, incidents, and patrol activities accurately and promptly in accordance with Allied Universal and site requirements.

Minimum Requirements:

• At least one year of security‑related experience is required.
• A valid driver’s license is required in accordance with Allied Universal driver policy requirements.
• A guard card or license is preferred.
• The ability to lift up to 20 pounds is preferred.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
