Job summary

Allied Universal is seeking a Security Officer (Part Time Unarmed Patrol) in Totowa, NJ. You will provide security and customer service, conduct routine patrols, monitor access, document observations, and support incident response at a technology and data infrastructure site.

The role requires 2+ years in security, a high school diploma, and comfort with computers. CPR/First Aid is preferred; background checks and drug screening are required as per policy.

Position Type: Part Time

Pay Rate: $19.57 / Hour

Job Schedule:

• Sat 11:00 PM - 07:00 AM
• Sun 11:00 PM - 07:00 AM

What You'll Do:

• Provide customer service to clients at a technology and data infrastructure location by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and emergency response activities when appropriate.
• Respond to incidents, alarms, access-control concerns, and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, following established escalation procedures.
• Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols of interior spaces, exterior grounds, parking areas, and perimeter areas to help deter unauthorized activity and identify security-related concerns.
• Monitor access points, visitor activity, and restricted areas in accordance with site requirements, reporting unusual conditions to appropriate personnel.
• Document patrol observations, incidents, and security-related concerns accurately and communicate relevant information during shift handoffs.

Minimum Requirements:

• Have at least 2 years of security-related experience.
• CPR and First Aid certification is preferred.
• Access control and badge experience is preferred.
• Customer service experience is preferred.
• Be comfortable using a computer or tablet.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
