Job summary

Allied Universal, Florham Park, NJ, is seeking a Part Time Unarmed Security Officer for an alarm assessment role. You will patrol, monitor access, and respond to incidents at a chemical/petrochemical location, while delivering customer service and maintaining site policies.

The position requires at least 2 years in security, high school diploma, and willingness to undergo background and drug screenings. Schedule includes Sat/Sun 3:00 PM–11:00 PM.

Qualifications

• Have at least 2 years of security-related experience.
• A state, county, or city-issued security-related license is preferred.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• Subject to background check as required by law.
• Drug screening required where permitted by law.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to clients by carrying out security-related procedures and site policies.
• Respond to incidents, alarms, spills, access concerns, and other critical situations calmly.
• Conduct regular and random patrols of buildings, process areas, parking areas, and perimeter.
• Monitor access control points and verify credentials for employees, contractors, vendors, and visitors.
• Document patrols, incidents, observations, and security-related activities in logs/reports.

Position Type: Part Time

Pay Rate: $19.00 / Hour

Job Schedule:

• Sat: 03:00 PM - 11:00 PM
• Sun: 03:00 PM - 11:00 PM

What You'll Do:

• Provide customer service to clients by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities at a chemical and petrochemical location.
• Respond to incidents, alarms, spills, access concerns, and other critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, following site protocols and notification procedures.
• Conduct regular and random patrols of buildings, process areas, parking areas, access points, and the perimeter to help identify and report unusual conditions or unauthorized activity.
• Monitor access control points and verify credentials for employees, contractors, vendors, and visitors in accordance with site-specific requirements.
• Document patrols, incidents, observations, and security-related activities accurately in required logs and reports.

Minimum Requirements:

• Have at least 2 years of security-related experience.
• Access control and badge experience is preferred.
• Alarm panel experience is preferred.
• Customer service experience is preferred.
• A state, county, or city-issued security-related license is preferred.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
