Job Description

As a Security Officer Part Time Patrol Compliance in Somerset, NJ, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Chemical/Petrochemical, and more. As a Patrol Unarmed Officer with Allied Universal, you will monitor and patrol a chemical and petrochemical laboratory environment, maintaining a visible presence to help deter security-related incidents. You will conduct routine patrols, support access control activities, respond to security-related concerns, and deliver professional customer service. What You'll Do:

• Provide customer service to clients, visitors, and personnel by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and emergency response activities as appropriate.
• Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols of laboratory facilities, controlled-access areas, exterior grounds, parking areas, and perimeter locations to help to deter unauthorized activity and identify unusual conditions.
• Monitor access points, verify visitor and contractor authorization, maintain visitor logs, and report access-control concerns according to site procedures.
• Respond to incidents, alarms, chemical-related concerns, and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, following established site protocols and notifying appropriate personnel.
• Prepare accurate activity reports, document observations and incidents, and communicate relevant information to site contacts and Allied Universal leadership.

Minimum Requirements:

• Possess at least three years of combined law enforcement, military, or security-related experience, or a college degree.
• Possess a college degree.
• Comfort using a computer or tablet is preferred.
• Access control and badge experience is preferred.
• A guard card and/or license is preferred.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
