Job summary

Allied Universal is hiring a part-time Security Officer in Ashburn, Virginia. You will patrol and monitor a commercial property, manage access control, and deliver excellent customer service to tenants and staff.

The role requires smart, reliable individuals who can work overnight shifts, handle emergencies, and maintain a visible presence to deter incidents. Training and advancement opportunities are available.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to tenants, visitors, contractors, and staff while following site policies and emergency procedures.
• Conduct regular and random foot/vehicle patrols to deter incidents and identify irregular conditions.
• Monitor access points, verify credentials, and document visitor activity and incidents.
• Respond to incidents, alarms, and critical situations calmly and professionally; liaise with site contacts and responders as needed.
• Report maintenance concerns, hazards, and suspicious activity promptly.

As a Patrol Unarmed Officer at a commercial real estate location, you will monitor and patrol assigned areas, maintain a visible presence to help deter security-related incidents, support access control activities, and provide outstanding customer service and communication. Job Schedule:

• Tue 10:00 PM - 06:00 AM
• Wed 10:00 PM - 06:00 AM
• Thur 10:00 PM - 06:00 AM

What You'll Do:

• Provide customer service to tenants, visitors, contractors, and staff while carrying out site-specific policies, security-related procedures, and emergency response activities as appropriate.
• Conduct regular and random foot and/or vehicle patrols of commercial property interiors, exterior areas, parking facilities, access points, and perimeter locations to help deter unauthorized activity and identify irregular conditions.
• Monitor access points, visitor activity, alarms, and surveillance systems; verify credentials and maintain accurate visitor, contractor, and incident documentation.
• Respond to incidents, alarms, and critical situations in a calm, professional, problem-solving manner; communicate with site contacts and emergency responders as needed.
• Report maintenance concerns, hazards, suspicious activity, and other security-related observations promptly in accordance with site procedures.

Minimum Requirements:

• Comfortable using a computer or tablet is preferred.
• Customer service experience is preferred.
• Access control and badge experience is preferred.
• Ability to lift up to 20 lbs. is preferred.
• A guard card or license is preferred.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver's license will be required for driving positions only.
