Job summary

Allied Universal is seeking a part-time Security Officer in Ashburn, VA to patrol and protect a commercial property. You will provide excellent customer service, monitor access points, and maintain a visible presence to deter security incidents.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to tenants, visitors, contractors, and staff while enforcing site policies.
• Conduct regular patrols of interiors, exterior areas, parking facilities, and access points to deter unauthorized activity.
• Monitor access points, verify credentials, and document visitor, contractor, and incident details.
• Respond calmly and professionally to incidents, alarms, and emergencies; communicate with site contacts and responders as needed.
• Report maintenance concerns and security observations promptly.

As a Patrol Unarmed Officer at a commercial real estate location, you will monitor and patrol assigned areas, maintain a visible presence to help deter security-related incidents, support access control activities, and provide outstanding customer service and communication. What You'll Do:

• Provide customer service to tenants, visitors, contractors, and staff while carrying out site-specific policies, security-related procedures, and emergency response activities as appropriate.
• Conduct regular and random foot and/or vehicle patrols of commercial property interiors, exterior areas, parking facilities, access points, and perimeter locations to help deter unauthorized activity and identify irregular conditions.
• Monitor access points, visitor activity, alarms, and surveillance systems; verify credentials and maintain accurate visitor, contractor, and incident documentation.
• Respond to incidents, alarms, and critical situations in a calm, professional, problem-solving manner; communicate with site contacts and emergency responders as needed.
• Report maintenance concerns, hazards, suspicious activity, and other security-related observations promptly in accordance with site procedures.

Minimum Requirements:

• Comfortable using a computer or tablet is preferred.
• Customer service experience is preferred.
• Access control and badge experience is preferred.
• Ability to lift up to 20 lbs. is preferred.
• A guard card or license is preferred.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
