Allied Universal in Wilmington, NC, is seeking a Security Officer Unarmed Patrol to safeguard residents, staff, and visitors at a shelter location. You will monitor access, perform patrols, and provide compassionate customer service while upholding Allied Universal’s values.

This part-time role offers daytime and night shifts with a pay rate of $16.40 per hour. You will document observations, communicate with leadership, and support a welcoming, secure environment through teamwork and integrity.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 18 years old for unarmed roles; 21+ years for armed roles.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Background check required by federal, state, and local laws.
• Drug screen required; licensing may be required.
• Driver's license required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to residents, visitors, staff, and service providers by carrying out site-specific procedures, policies, and emergency response activities as appropriate.
• Monitor access to the shelter location, observe visitor activity, and report unusual conditions or policy concerns to appropriate personnel.
• Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, respectful, problem-solving manner, including situations involving individuals experiencing crisis or distress.
• Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols of the building, grounds, entrances, and perimeter to help deter unauthorized activity and identify security-related concerns.
• Document incidents, observations, and patrol activity accurately, and communicate relevant information to site leadership and/or Allied Universal supervision.

What You'll Do:

Minimum Requirements:

• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.


• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.


• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.


• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.


• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.


• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.


• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
