Allied Universal in Indianapolis, IN is seeking a Part-Time Security Officer for parcel examination to protect clients at a logistics and distribution location. You will screen individuals, monitor entry points, and enforce site procedures while delivering courteous customer service to employees and visitors.

This role offers flexible shifts, including DayTime and Night shifts, with a pay rate of $17.22 per hour.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is required.
• Be at least 18 years old for unarmed roles; 21+ for armed roles.
• Background check and drug screen required by law.
• Licensing requirements may be required by state/local laws.
• A valid driver’s license is required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to employees, visitors, and delivery personnel by carrying out site-specific security procedures and access-control requirements.
• Screen employees, visitors, contractors, packages, and belongings according to site procedures.
• Operate screening equipment and report prohibited items and suspicious activity to site contacts.
• Respond to incidents calmly and follow escalation procedures.
• Conduct regular patrols of designated screening areas and perimeter locations.

What You'll Do

• Provide customer service to employees, visitors, and delivery personnel by carrying out site-specific security-related procedures, access-control requirements, and emergency response activities at a logistics and distribution location.
• Screen employees, visitors, contractors, packages, and/or personal belongings in accordance with established site procedures and applicable policies.
• Operate screening equipment and conduct inspections as assigned, reporting prohibited items, suspicious activity, and policy violations to appropriate site contacts.
• Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, following established escalation and reporting procedures.
• Conduct regular and random patrols of designated screening areas, access points, facility areas, and perimeter locations to help to deter unauthorized activity.

Minimum Requirements

• Ability to lift more than 20 pounds is preferred.
• X-Ray screening experience is preferred.
• Loss prevention experience is preferred.
• Customer service experience is preferred.
• Access control and badge experience is preferred.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
