Job summary

Allied Universal is seeking a Security Officer – Part Time Enhanced in Austin, TX. This fixed, morning-shift role provides reliable hours at an assigned site, with the option to earn more by picking up additional shifts through our scheduling platform.

Pay rate is $21.00 per hour. You'll help maintain a safe, welcoming environment by performing access control, responding to incidents, patrolling facilities, and delivering customer service to employees and visitors.

Qualifications

• At least 2 years of security‑related experience is required.
• Customer service experience is preferred.
• Ability to lift up to 20 pounds is preferred.
• Comfort using a computer or tablet is preferred.
• CPR/First Aid certification is preferred.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• Background check and drug screen required.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to employees, visitors, contractors, and/or vendors at a technology-focused location by carrying out site-specific procedures and applicable emergency response activities.
• Respond to incidents, alarms, and critical situations in a calm, professional, problem-solving manner, escalating concerns according to established protocols.
• Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols of campus buildings, offices, parking areas, entry points, and perimeter areas to help deter unauthorized activity.
• Monitor access points and visitor activity, verify credentials as directed, and report access-control concerns or unusual conditions to appropriate personnel.
• Document daily activities, patrol findings, incidents, and observations in clear, accurate reports while maintaining a professional presence.

Pay Rate: $21.00 / Hour

Job Schedule:

Wed 07:00 AM - 03:00 PM

How This Role Works:

• Fixed-Shift Commitment (“Anchor Shifts”): You will be hired for a designated site and weekly shift that serves as your reliable base schedule. This assignment requires a six (6) month commitment.
• Earn More, Claim-A-Shift Program: In addition to your fixed shift, you may pick-up extra shifts through our scheduling platform, allowing you to increase earnings and gain experience across multiple sites. Work part-time hours this week and full-time the next. It’s all up to you.

This role is ideal for candidates seeking part-time employment with flexibility, income stability, and opportunities to build-up to a full-time schedule of up to 40 hours per week; always with the option to scale back when needed.

• Customer service experience is preferred.

• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
