Allied Universal is hiring a Part-Time Security Officer at our Hampstead, MD logistics center. This role provides reliable, fixed shifts with the flexibility to pick up additional shifts through our scheduling platform.

You will contribute to safety and customer service, perform patrols, monitor access, and respond to incidents following site procedures. Eligible candidates must be 18+ and have a high school diploma, plus pass background checks and a drug screen.

Qualifications

• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to clients by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities at a logistics and distribution location.
• Respond to incidents, access concerns, and critical situations in a calm, problem‑solving manner, following established site protocols.
• Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols of warehouse areas, loading docks, trailer yards, employee entrances, parking areas, and the facility perimeter.
• Monitor and report unusual activity, facility conditions, and policy violations to appropriate site contacts and/or Allied Universal leadership.
• Assist with access control by verifying authorized personnel, visitors, deliveries, and vehicles in accordance with site-specific procedures.

How This Role Works

• Fixed-Shift Commitment (“Anchor Shifts”): You will be hired for a designated site and weekly shift that serves as your reliable base schedule. This assignment requires a six (6) month commitment.
• Earn More, Claim‑A‑Shift Program: In addition to your fixed shift, you may pick‑up extra shifts through our scheduling platform, allowing you to increase earnings and gain experience across multiple sites. Work part‑time hours this week and full‑time the next. It’s all up to you.

This role is ideal for candidates seeking part‑time employment with flexibility, income stability, and opportunities to build‑up to a full‑time schedule of up to 40 hours per week; always with the option to scale back when needed.
