Job summary

Allied Universal, a leader in security and facility services, is seeking a Part-Time Security Officer for the Hospital Visitor Center in Brooklyn, NY. You will provide customer service to patients, visitors, and staff while patrolling and maintaining visibility to deter incidents.

Eligible candidates will be at least 18 years old for unarmed positions (21+ for armed), possess a high school diploma, and be prepared for background checks and drug screening as required by law.

Qualifications

• Hospital vaccines are required.
• Customer service experience is preferred.
• A Guard Card or license is preferred.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• Background check will be conducted as required by law.
• A drug screen may be required.
• Licensing requirements may apply by state/local laws.
• Driver's license required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to patients, visitors, staff, and contractors following security procedures and site policies.
• Respond to incidents, medical emergencies, disturbances, and coordinate with site personnel and emergency services.
• Conduct regular patrols of interior and exterior areas to deter unauthorized activity and identify maintenance needs.
• Monitor access points and visitor activity, provide directions, report suspicious activity to supervision.
• Prepare accurate reports and maintain documentation for incidents and patrols.

As a Security Officer in a government healthcare setting, you will monitor assigned areas, conduct routine patrols, and maintain a visible presence to help deter security-related incidents. Position Type: Part Time

Pay Rate: $17.87 - $18.87 / Hour

Job Schedule:

• Wed: 11:30 PM - 08:00 AM
• Thur: 11:30 PM - 08:00 AM
• Sat: 07:30 AM - 04:00 PM

What You'll Do:

• Provide customer service to patients, visitors, staff, and contractors by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and, when appropriate, emergency response activities in a government healthcare setting.
• Respond to incidents, medical emergencies, disturbances, and other critical situations in a calm, professional, problem-solving manner; coordinate with appropriate site personnel and public emergency services as needed.
• Conduct regular and random patrols of assigned interior and exterior areas, including entrances, waiting areas, corridors, parking locations, and perimeter areas, to help to deter unauthorized activity and identify conditions requiring attention.
• Monitor access points and visitor activity in accordance with site procedures, provide directions and assistance, and report suspicious activity or policy concerns to supervision.
• Prepare accurate reports and maintain required documentation for incidents, observations, patrols, and other security-related activities.

Minimum Requirements:

• Hospital vaccines are required.
• Customer service experience is preferred.
• A Guard Card or license is preferred.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver's license will be required for driving positions only.
