Job summary

Allied Universal, a leading security and facility services company, is seeking a Part Time Enhanced Security Officer in Bronx, NY. This role offers fixed shifts with the option to pick up additional shifts to maximize earnings while gaining hands-on experience in a hospital environment.

You will provide patient, visitor, and staff security; respond to incidents calmly; perform patrols; monitor access points; and document events for leadership review.

Qualifications

• Vaccines are required for hospital assignments.
• A guard card or license is preferred.
• Customer service experience is preferred.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• Applicants will be subject to a background investigation.
• Applicants will be subject to a drug screen.
• Licensing requirements may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver's license will be required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to patients, visitors, staff, and other members of the public by carrying out security-related procedures and emergency response activities.
• Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner.
• Conduct regular and random patrols of healthcare facility areas, entrances, waiting areas, and surrounding perimeter.
• Monitor access points and assist with visitor management in accordance with site-specific procedures.
• Document observations, incidents, and actions taken, and communicate relevant information to Allied Universal leadership.

As a Security Guard Part Time Hospital Care Assistance in Bronx, NY, this role is designed to provide reliable, consistent hours at an assigned site with the flexibility for you to earn more by picking‑up additional shifts when it works for you.

Pay Rate: $17.87 - $18.87 / Hour

Job Schedule:

• Mon 11:30 PM - 08:00 AM

How This Role Works:

• Fixed-Shift Commitment ("Anchor Shifts"): You will be hired for a designated site and weekly shift that serves as your reliable base schedule. This assignment requires a six (6) month commitment.
• Earn More, Claim-A-Shift Program: In addition to your fixed shift, you may pick‑up extra shifts through our scheduling platform, allowing you to increase earnings and gain experience across multiple sites. Work part‑time hours this week and full‑time the next. It’s all up to you.

Responsibilities:

• Provide customer service to patients, visitors, staff, and other members of the public by carrying out security‑related procedures, site‑specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities.
• Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem‑solving manner, including situations involving access concerns, disturbances, medical emergencies, and/or requests for assistance.
• Conduct regular and random patrols of healthcare facility areas, entrances, waiting areas, parking locations, and the surrounding perimeter, with working environments and conditions varying by location.
• Monitor access points and assist with visitor management in accordance with site‑specific procedures, helping to deter unauthorized access.
• Document observations, incidents, and actions taken, and communicate relevant information to appropriate site personnel and Allied Universal leadership.

Minimum Requirements:

• Vaccines are required for hospital assignments.
• A guard card or license is preferred.
• Customer service experience is preferred.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
