Job summary

Allied Universal in Long Branch, NJ is seeking a Security Officer Enhanced Part Time Front Desk to provide friendly, professional service at a designated site. You’ll greet residents and visitors, verify credentials, maintain logs, and respond to incidents with calm, professional problem-solving.

Pay is $19.00 per hour with fixed shifts and the option to pick up additional hours through our scheduling platform, letting you earn more while gaining hands-on security experience.

Qualifications

• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

• Provide exceptional customer service to residents, visitors, vendors, and/or employees at a front desk location within a technology, media, and telecommunications environment.
• Monitor access to the property by greeting visitors, verifying credentials, maintaining visitor records, and communicating entry procedures in accordance with site‑specific policies.
• Support security‑related procedures by observing lobby activity, monitoring available access‑control systems and/or cameras, and reporting unusual activity to appropriate personnel.
• Respond to incidents, visitor concerns, and critical situations in a calm, professional, problem‑solving manner, following site‑specific emergency response protocols.
• Maintain accurate logs, incident reports, and shift communications while providing a professional, welcoming front desk presence.

How This Role Works

• Fixed-Shift Commitment (“Anchor Shifts”): You will be hired for a designated site and weekly shift that serves as your reliable base schedule. This assignment requires a six (6) month commitment.
• Earn More, Claim-A-Shift Program: In addition to your fixed shift, you may pick-up extra shifts through our scheduling platform, allowing you to increase earnings and gain experience across multiple sites. Work part-time hours this week and full-time the next. It’s all up to you.

This role is ideal for candidates seeking part-time employment with flexibility, income stability, and opportunities to build-up to a full-time schedule of up to 40 hours per week; always with the option to scale back when needed.
