As an Access Control Officer at a government corrections location, you will help maintain a controlled environment by monitoring entry points, verifying credentials, managing visitor access, and communicating professionally with staff and visitors. Your visible presence and attention to access procedures will help deter incidents while supporting a caring, reliable team that acts with integrity. An armed guard card or license is preferred.

Pay Rate: $21.50 / Hour

What You'll Do:

• Provide customer service by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities at a government corrections location.
• Control access to the facility by verifying identification, authorizations, and visitor credentials; maintain accurate entry and exit records in accordance with site procedures.
• Monitor access points, cameras, alarms, and communication systems; report unusual activity, unauthorized access attempts, and equipment concerns to appropriate personnel.
• Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, following established post orders and notification procedures.
• Conduct regular and random patrols of assigned interior areas, exterior grounds, access points, and perimeter areas to help deter unauthorized activity.

Minimum Requirements:

• An Armed Guard Card/License is preferred.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
