Job summary

Allied Universal is seeking a Part-Time Security Officer at Franklin Park, IL, to protect tenants, visitors, contractors, and vendors while enforcing access-control procedures. You will monitor entry points, verify credentials, respond to incidents, and conduct patrols across the property, reporting maintenance concerns and unusual activities.

Qualifications

• At least one year of security-related experience.
• A valid guard card or license is preferred.
• Be comfortable using a computer or tablet.
• CPR and First Aid certification is preferred.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to tenants, visitors, contractors, and/or vendors while carrying out access-control procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities.
• Monitor access points, verify credentials and visitor authorization, issue and collect visitor passes, and maintain accurate access-control-related records.
• Respond to incidents, access-control alarms, and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner; notify appropriate site contacts and/or emergency responders as directed by site procedures.
• Conduct regular and random patrols of the commercial property, building entrances, common areas, parking areas, and perimeter to identify and report security-related concerns.
• Assist with enforcing site access requirements, directing visitors, and documenting incidents, unusual activity, and maintenance concerns in accordance with Allied Universal and site procedures.

What You’ll Do

Minimum Requirements

• Have at least one year of security-related experience.
• A valid guard card or license is preferred.
• Be comfortable using a computer or tablet.
• CPR and First Aid certification is preferred.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
