Allied Universal is seeking a Security Officer (Part Time Entry Authorization) in Sterling, VA. You will manage access at a construction-focused location, verify authorized entrants, and maintain a visible, professional presence to deter incidents. Qualifications

• Minimum 18 years old (unarmed roles) or 21+ (armed roles).
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Background check required by law.
• Criminal history considered per applicable laws.
• Drug screening required where permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements may apply per state/local laws.
• Valid driver’s license required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to clients, visitors, and contractors by access-control procedures and emergency response activities when appropriate.
• Monitor access points and verify authorization for employees, visitors, vendors, and deliveries entering or leaving the location.
• Maintain visitor, contractor, and delivery records; issue and collect access credentials as directed, and report access concerns to site leadership.
• Respond to incidents, alarms, and critical situations calmly following site procedures.
• Conduct regular and random patrols of access points, the business, and perimeter areas; report security-related concerns and maintenance issues.

What You'll Do:

• Provide customer service to clients, visitors, and contractors by carrying out site-specific access-control procedures, policies, and emergency response activities when appropriate.
• Monitor access points and verify authorization for employees, visitors, vendors, and deliveries entering or leaving the location.
• Maintain accurate visitor, contractor, and delivery records, issue and collect access credentials as directed, and report access concerns to site leadership.
• Respond to incidents, alarms, and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, following established site procedures.
• Conduct regular and random patrols of access points, the business, and perimeter areas, reporting security-related concerns, unusual activity, and maintenance issues.

Minimum Requirements:

• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
