Allied Universal is seeking a Security Officer Part Time Access Authorization Specialist in Reston, VA. You will help safeguard clients by monitoring entry points, verifying credentials, managing visitor access, and maintaining accurate access records.

As a Part-Time Access Control Officer, you will build a schedule that fits your needs and can explore new roles via our Claim a Shift platform. This role emphasizes customer service, teamwork, and integrity.

Qualifications

• Minimum age: 18 for unarmed roles, 21+ for armed roles
• High school diploma or equivalent required
• Background check per federal/state/local laws
• Drug screen required where permitted by law
• Licensing requirements per state/local laws
• Driver's license required for driving positions only

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to clients, visitors, contractors, and delivery personnel while performing site-specific access-control procedures
• Monitor access points, verify credentials and authorization, manage visitor and contractor entry, and maintain access logs
• Respond to access-control incidents, alarms, and critical situations calmly and follow site procedures
• Deter unauthorized entry by monitoring entry/exit points and reporting suspicious activity
• Conduct regular patrols of assigned areas and perimeter; duties vary by location

Pay Rate: $27.14 / Hour

What You'll Do:

• Provide customer service to clients, visitors, contractors, and delivery personnel while carrying out site-specific access-control procedures, policies, and emergency response activities as appropriate.
• Monitor access points, verify credentials and authorization, manage visitor and contractor entry, and maintain accurate access-related logs and records.
• Respond to access-control incidents, alarms, and critical situations in a calm, professional, problem-solving manner; notify appropriate personnel and follow site procedures.
• Help to deter unauthorized entry by observing activity at designated entry and exit points and reporting suspicious or unusual conditions.
• Conduct regular and random patrols of assigned construction areas, access points, and the perimeter; working environments and conditions may vary by location.

Minimum Requirements:

• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
