Allied Universal in West Columbia, SC is seeking a part-time Security Officer focused on entrance verification. You will support site access, verify credentials, monitor entry points, and deliver courteous customer service to employees, visitors and drivers.

This role offers flexible daytime and evening shifts, competitive pay of $14.00 per hour, and opportunities to grow through ongoing training and the company's Claim a Shift platform and other smart tools.

Qualifications

• Access Control/Badge Experience is preferred.
• Customer Service Experience is preferred.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• Background investigations and drug testing may be required by law.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to employees, visitors, and delivery personnel while carrying out site-specific security procedures.
• Monitor access points, verify credentials/visitor authorizations, maintain logs, and direct authorized individuals.
• Control entry and exit of vehicles, trailers, and personnel per site procedures.
• Respond to incidents calmly, document observations, and notify appropriate personnel.
• Conduct patrols of access points, loading areas, parking locations, and facility perimeter.

What You’ll Do:

• Provide customer service to employees, visitors, and delivery personnel while carrying out site-specific security-related procedures, access-control policies, and emergency response activities at a logistics and distribution location.
• Monitor access points, verify credentials and/or visitor authorizations, maintain visitor logs, and direct authorized individuals to appropriate areas.
• Help control entry and exit of vehicles, trailers, and personnel in accordance with site procedures and shipping and receiving operations.
• Respond to incidents, access-control concerns, and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner; document observations and notify appropriate personnel.
• Conduct regular and random patrols of access points, loading areas, parking locations, and the facility perimeter to help identify unauthorized activity or security-related concerns.

Minimum Requirements:

• Access Control/Badge Experience is preferred.
• Customer Service Experience is preferred.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
