Job summary

Allied Universal is seeking a part-time Healthcare Security Officer in Birmingham, AL. You will monitor and patrol a healthcare location, deter incidents, and provide excellent customer service to patients, visitors, and staff.

Schedule varies with daytime and night shifts; pay is $16.75 per hour. You will respond to incidents, conduct rounds, and ensure secure access across the facility while keeping a welcoming environment.

As a Healthcare Security Officer with Allied Universal, you will monitor and patrol assigned areas within a healthcare location, helping to maintain a welcoming and secure environment for patients, visitors, and staff. You will conduct routine rounds, remain visible to help deter incidents, respond to security-related concerns, and provide outstanding customer service. What You'll Do:

• Provide customer service to patients, visitors, staff, and contractors by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and, when appropriate, emergency response activities within a healthcare setting.
• Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, professional, problem-solving manner, including medical emergencies, disturbances, and access-related concerns.
• Conduct regular and random patrols of assigned areas, entrances, parking areas, and the facility perimeter; working environments and conditions may vary by location.
• Monitor access points and assist with visitor management, badge verification, and direction of patients and visitors to appropriate areas.
• Document incidents, observations, and security-related activities in accordance with site procedures and Allied Universal reporting requirements.

Minimum Requirements:

• At least one year of security-related experience is required.
• Ability to lift up to 20 pounds is preferred.
• CPR certification is preferred.
• CPR and First Aid certification is preferred.
• Comfortable using a computer or tablet is preferred.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
