As a Security Officer Enhanced Part Time Identity Screening in New York, NY, this role is designed to provide reliable, consistent hours at an assigned site with the flexibility for you to earn more by picking‑up additional shifts when it works for you.

Pay Rate: $19.00 - $20.00 / Hour

Job Schedule:

• Mon 12:30 PM - 06:00 PM
• Tue 12:30 PM - 06:00 PM
• Wed 01:00 PM - 06:00 PM

How This Role Works:

• Fixed-Shift Commitment (“Anchor Shifts”): You will be hired for a designated site and weekly shift that serves as your reliable base schedule. This assignment requires a six (6) month commitment.
• Earn More, Claim-A-Shift Program: In addition to your fixed shift, you may pick‑up extra shifts through our scheduling platform, allowing you to increase earnings and gain experience across multiple sites. Work part‑time hours this week and full‑time the next. It’s all up to you.

This role is ideal for candidates seeking part‑time employment with flexibility, income stability, and opportunities to build‑up to a full‑time schedule of up to 40 hours per week; always with the option to scale back when needed.

Responsibilities:

• Provide customer service to students, staff, families, and visitors while carrying out site‑specific security‑related procedures, policies, and emergency response activities.
• Screen visitors, verify identification and authorization, manage access in accordance with school policies, and maintain accurate visitor records.
• Monitor entry points and report unauthorized access attempts, concerning behavior, or policy violations to appropriate school personnel and/or Allied Universal supervision.
• Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, professional, problem‑solving manner while following established response protocols.
• Conduct regular and random patrols of assigned school areas and the perimeter, reporting observed hazards, maintenance concerns, or unusual activity.

Minimum Requirements:

• Possess at least 6 months of security‑related experience.
• Access control and badge experience is preferred.
• Customer service experience is preferred.
• Comfort using a computer or tablet is preferred.
• A state, county, or city‑issued security license is preferred.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
