Job summary

Allied Universal in Normal, IL is seeking a Part-Time Security Officer – Driving Operations. You will serve clients across automotive manufacturing and related facilities, performing driving and foot patrols while maintaining a strong, visible security presence and top-notch customer service.

The role offers flexible scheduling via our Claim a Shift platform. Prior driving, access control and badge experience are valued; and a background check and drug screen are required.

Qualifications

• Valid driver’s license required.
• Alarm panel experience preferred.
• Access control and badge experience preferred.
• Customer service experience preferred.
• Be at least 18 years old for unarmed roles; 21+ for armed roles.
• Background investigation as per laws; drug screen required.

As a Patrol Unarmed Security Officer at an automotive location, you will conduct routine driving and foot patrols, maintain a visible presence to help deter incidents, support access control, and respond to alarm-related activity. You will provide outstanding customer service and clear communication while contributing to a welcoming, secure environment. What You'll Do

• Provide customer service to clients, visitors, and employees while carrying out site-specific security-related procedures, policies, and emergency response activities as appropriate.
• Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols of automotive manufacturing, parking, shipping, and perimeter areas to help identify and report unusual conditions or unauthorized activity.
• Monitor access points and visitor activity in accordance with site procedures, documenting observations and communicating concerns to appropriate personnel.
• Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, professional, problem-solving manner, following established post orders and escalation protocols.
• Prepare accurate reports and maintain required activity logs for patrols, incidents, and security-related observations.

Minimum Requirements

• A valid driver’s license is required in accordance with Allied Universal driver policy requirements.
• Alarm panel experience is preferred.
• Access control and badge experience is preferred.
• Customer service experience is preferred.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
