Job summary

Allied Universal is hiring a Part Time Security Officer for a bicycle perimeter patrol in Santa Clara, CA. You will perform routine foot and bicycle patrols, maintain a visible presence to deter incidents, respond to alarms, and provide excellent customer service to visitors and tenants.

Schedule includes overnight shifts on Wed, Fri and Sat 11:00 PM–07:30 AM. A high school diploma is required, and a background check and drug screen apply.

Qualifications

• At least 1 year of security-related experience is preferred.
• Ability to lift more than 20 pounds is preferred.
• Ability to ride a bike for long periods is preferred.
• Guard Card or license is preferred.
• Background check and drug screen required by law.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to shoppers, tenants, visitors, and/or employees by carrying out security procedures and policies.
• Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, professional manner.
• Conduct regular and random patrols of the retail center including common areas and parking areas.
• Monitor access points and report unusual conditions or policy violations.
• Document incidents and communicate information to leadership and site contacts.

Position Type: Part Time

Pay Rate: $25.50 / Hour

Job Schedule:

• Wed 11:00 PM - 07:30 AM
• Fri 11:00 PM - 07:30 AM
• Sat 11:00 PM - 07:30 AM

What You'll Do:

• Provide customer service to shoppers, tenants, visitors, and/or employees by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities.
• Respond to incidents, customer concerns, and critical situations in a calm, professional, problem-solving manner.
• Conduct regular and random patrols throughout the retail center, including common areas, parking areas, exterior perimeter, and tenant corridors, to help deter unauthorized activity and identify potential concerns.
• Monitor access points and observe activity throughout the location, reporting unusual conditions, maintenance concerns, and policy violations in accordance with site procedures.
• Document incidents, observations, and daily activities accurately and communicate relevant information to Allied Universal leadership and site contacts.

Minimum Requirements:

• Have at least 1 year of security-related experience.
• Preferred: Ability to lift more than 20 pounds.
• Preferred: Ability to ride a bike for long periods of time.
• Preferred: Possess a Guard Card or license.
• Preferred: Have alarm panel experience.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver's license will be required for driving positions only.
