Allied Universal is seeking a Part-Time Armed Security Officer in Suffolk, VA. You will protect clients across healthcare facilities by conducting routine armed patrols, maintaining a professional presence, and delivering outstanding customer service to patients, visitors, and staff.

Responsibilities include patrolling, responding to incidents and emergencies, monitoring access points, and documenting events.

Qualifications

• Armed guard card or license required.
• Minimum age 21 for armed roles.
• High school diploma or equivalent is required.
• Background check and drug screen required by policy.
• Customer service experience preferred.
• Comfortable using a computer or tablet.

• Maintain armed credentials and handle equipment in accordance with policy and regulations.

Job Schedule:

• Wed 03:00 PM - 11:00 PM
• Thur 03:00 PM - 11:00 PM

What You'll Do:

• Provide customer service to patients, visitors, staff, and vendors while carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and emergency response activities as appropriate.
• Conduct regular and random armed patrols of healthcare facilities, parking areas, surrounding grounds, and perimeter locations to help deter unauthorized activity.
• Respond to incidents, alarms, medical emergencies, and critical situations in a calm, professional, problem‑solving manner, following established post orders and applicable laws.
• Monitor access points and visitor activity, report unusual conditions, and document incidents using required reporting procedures.
• Maintain required armed credentials and handle authorized equipment in accordance with Allied Universal policies, site requirements, and applicable regulations.

Minimum Requirements:

• Possess an armed guard card or license.
• Customer service experience is preferred.
• Comfortable using a computer or tablet is preferred.
• Be at least 21 years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Participate in industry‑specific security training programs.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
