Allied Universal is seeking a part-time Security Officer in Minneapolis, MN to perform armed patrols and keep facilities secure. The role emphasizes customer service, access control, and rapid response to incidents at a utility location.

You will conduct scheduled and random patrols, verify credentials, document activity, and maintain logs while adhering to site procedures and safety guidelines. A background check and drug screen are required.

• Provide customer service to personnel, visitors, contractors, and vendors performing site‑specific security procedures and access control.
• Conduct armed patrols of facilities, grounds, perimeters, parking areas, and critical infrastructure to deter unauthorized activity.
• Monitor access points, verify credentials, and document entries/exits per site policy.
• Respond to incidents, alarms, and emergencies; coordinate with contacts and leadership as needed.
• Prepare accurate reports and daily activity logs detailing patrols, incidents, and security concerns.

Security Officer Part Time Armed Patrol Position, Minneapolis, MN

Position Type: Part Time

Pay Rate: $25.60 / Hour

Job Schedule:

• Sat 10:00 AM - 06:00 PM
• Sun 10:00 AM - 06:00 PM

What You'll Do:

• Provide customer service to personnel, visitors, contractors, and/or vendors by carrying out site‑specific security‑related procedures, access‑control requirements, and emergency response activities at a utility location.
• Conduct regular and random armed patrols of facilities, grounds, perimeter areas, parking areas, and critical infrastructure, helping to deter unauthorized activity and identifying unusual conditions.
• Monitor access points, verify credentials and authorizations, and document the entry and exit of authorized personnel, vehicles, and deliveries in accordance with site policies.
• Respond to incidents, alarms, and critical situations in a calm, problem‑solving manner; communicate with site contacts, emergency responders, and Allied Universal leadership as appropriate.
• Prepare accurate reports and daily activity logs, documenting patrol findings, incidents, access‑control activities, and security‑related concerns.

Minimum Requirements:

• Possess at least 2 years of law enforcement, military police, or corrections experience.
• Possess an armed guard card or license.
• Be at least 21 years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Participate in industry‑specific security training programs.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
