Job summary

Allied Universal is seeking a Security Officer (Part Time Armed Patrol) in Miami Beach, FL. You will monitor government facilities, deter incidents, and respond professionally while delivering exceptional customer service. The role offers flexible part-time scheduling and access to Allied Universal’s shift-claim platform.

You will need an armed guard card or license, a college degree, and meet age and background-check requirements. Industry training and state licensing may apply where required.

Qualifications

• Possess an armed guard card or license.
• Possess a college degree.
• Possess a DD214 with an honorable discharge, an associate degree, 60 college credits, a police academy certificate, or a corrections academy certificate.
• Handcuffs, pepper spray, and baton are preferred.
• Be at least 21 years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Participate in industry‑specific security training programs.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver's license will be required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to visitors, employees, and/or members of the public while carrying out security-related procedures, site‑specific policies, and emergency response activities at government facilities.
• Respond to incidents, alarms, disturbances, and critical situations in a calm, professional, problem‑solving manner, following established protocols and notifying appropriate personnel.
• Conduct regular and random armed patrols of assigned buildings, grounds, parking areas, access points, and perimeters to help deter unauthorized activity and identify security-related concerns.
• Monitor access to restricted areas, verify credentials as directed, and document visitor activity, unusual occurrences, and patrol findings in accordance with site procedures.
• Maintain readiness of assigned equipment and communicate clearly with supervisors, law enforcement, emergency responders, and/or other authorized personnel when required.
