As a Security Officer Enhanced Part Time Armed Mobile Patrol in Birmingham, AL, this role is designed to provide reliable, consistent hours at an assigned site with the flexibility for you to earn more by picking‑up additional shifts when it works for you.

Pay Rate: $18.05 / Hour

Job Schedule

• Tue: 02:00 PM - 10:00 PM
• Fri: 10:00 PM - 06:00 AM
• Sat: 10:00 PM - 06:00 AM

How This Role Works:

• Fixed-Shift Commitment (“Anchor Shifts”): You will be hired for a designated site and weekly shift that serves as your reliable base schedule. This assignment requires a six (6) month commitment.
• Earn More, Claim‑A‑Shift Program: In addition to your fixed shift, you may pick‑up extra shifts through our scheduling platform, allowing you to increase earnings and gain experience across multiple sites. Work part‑time hours this week and full‑time the next. It’s all up to you.

This role is ideal for candidates seeking part‑time employment with flexibility, income stability, and opportunities to build‑up to a full‑time schedule of up to 40 hours per week; always with the option to scale back when needed.

Responsibilities:

• Provide customer service to passengers, employees, and visitors while carrying out site‑specific procedures and emergency response activities at public transportation facilities.
• Conduct regular and random armed patrols of transit properties, stations, parking areas, vehicles, and perimeter areas to help deter unauthorized activity.
• Respond to incidents, disturbances, and critical situations in a calm, professional, problem‑solving manner, following established procedures and coordinating with appropriate public agencies when needed.
• Monitor access points and observe activity throughout assigned areas, documenting and reporting unusual conditions, incidents, and policy violations.
• Maintain required qualifications for an armed post and handle authorized equipment in accordance with Allied Universal policies, client requirements, and applicable laws.

Minimum Requirements:

• Possess a Concealed Carry Weapons Permit.
• Possess at least 1 year of security‑related experience.
• Be at least 21 years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Participate in industry‑specific security training programs.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
