Job summary

Allied Universal in McAllen, TX is seeking a Security Officer Enhanced Part Time Armed Driver to provide on-site protection and customer service. This flexible role features anchor shifts with the option to earn more by taking extra shifts via our scheduling platform.

Responsibilities include patrolling, monitoring access points, and responding to incidents while maintaining Texas Level III Armed Certification. A valid driver’s license and being 21+ are required.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is required.
• Texas Level III Armed Certification is required.
• 21 years of age or older for armed roles.
• Valid driver’s license is required.
• Background check and drug screening will be conducted as allowed by law.
• Armed guard card or license is preferred.
• Ability to use computer or tablet for scheduling and reporting.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to clients, shoppers, and staff while following security procedures.
• Respond to incidents and emergencies in a calm, controlled manner per post orders.
• Conduct armed patrols of retail areas, receiving zones, parking areas, and perimeter.
• Monitor access points and observe for suspicious activity; report concerns to appropriate personnel.
• Maintain firearm qualifications and comply with all laws, client policies, and Allied Universal procedures.

As a Security Officer Enhanced Part Time Armed Response Driver in McAllen, TX, this role is designed to provide reliable, consistent hours at an assigned site with the flexibility for you to earn more by picking-up additional shifts when it works for you.

Pay Rate: $14.00 / Hour

Job Schedule:

DayTimeTue12:00 PM - 11:30 PM

How This Role Works:

• Fixed-Shift Commitment (“Anchor Shifts”): You will be hired for a designated site and weekly shift that serves as your reliable base schedule. This assignment requires a six (6) month commitment.
• Earn More, Claim-A-Shift Program: In addition to your fixed shift, you may pick-up extra shifts through our scheduling platform, allowing you to increase earnings and gain experience across multiple sites. Work part-time hours this week and full-time the next. It’s all up to you.

This role is ideal for candidates seeking part-time employment with flexibility, income stability, and opportunities to build-up to a full-time schedule of up to 40 hours per week; always with the option to scale back when needed.

Responsibilities:

• Provide customer service to clients, shoppers, and store personnel by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and emergency response activities as appropriate.
• Respond to incidents, disturbances, and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, following established post orders and reporting requirements.
• Conduct regular and random armed patrols throughout retail sales areas, receiving zones, parking areas, and the property perimeter to help deter unauthorized activity.
• Monitor access points, observe for suspicious activity, and report security-related concerns, hazards, and policy violations to appropriate personnel.
• Maintain required firearm qualifications and follow all applicable laws, client policies, and Allied Universal procedures for armed post assignments.

Minimum Requirements:

• A valid driver’s license is required in accordance with Allied Universal driver policy requirements.
• Possess a Level III Armed Certification in Texas.
• Be comfortable using a computer or tablet preferred.
• Customer service experience is preferred.
• An armed guard card or license is preferred.
• Be at least 21 years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Participate in industry-specific security training programs.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
