Allied Universal in Fairfax, VA is seeking a Security Officer Enhanced Part Time Armed Patrol Deterrence to provide dependable security services on a healthcare campus. The role offers fixed anchor shifts with optional additional shifts through a scheduling platform to increase earnings.

Pay rate is $21.90 per hour. Candidates must have security experience, a Virginia DCJS license, and an armed guard card. CPR/First Aid is preferred, and a background check will be conducted.

Responsibilities

• Conduct armed patrols across assigned buildings, parking areas, entrances and perimeters to deter unauthorized activity.
• Monitor access points and verify credentials to maintain controlled access for patients, visitors, staff and vendors.
• Prepare accurate reports and communicate observations and policy violations to leadership.

As a Security Officer Enhanced Part Time Armed Patrol Deterrence in Fairfax, VA, this role is designed to provide reliable, consistent hours at an assigned site with the flexibility for you to earn more by picking‑up additional shifts when it works for you.

Pay Rate: $21.90 / Hour

Job Schedule:

DayTimeThur06:00 PM - 10:00 PM

How This Role Works:

• Fixed-Shift Commitment (“Anchor Shifts”): You will be hired for a designated site and weekly shift that serves as your reliable base schedule. This assignment requires a six (6) month commitment.
• Earn More, Claim-A-Shift Program: In addition to your fixed shift, you may pick‑up extra shifts through our scheduling platform, allowing you to increase earnings and gain experience across multiple sites. Work part‑time hours this week and full‑time the next. It’s all up to you.

This role is ideal for candidates seeking part‑time employment with flexibility, income stability, and opportunities to build‑up to a full‑time schedule of up to 40 hours per week; always with the option to scale back when needed.

Responsibilities:

• Provide customer service to patients, visitors, staff, and contractors while carrying out security‑related procedures, site‑specific policies, and emergency response activities in a healthcare location.
• Respond to incidents, medical emergencies, disturbances, and other critical situations in a calm, problem‑solving manner, following established protocols and notifying appropriate personnel.
• Conduct regular and random armed patrols throughout assigned buildings, parking areas, entrances, and perimeter areas to help to deter unauthorized activity and identify security‑related concerns.
• Monitor access points and verify credentials as directed, helping to maintain controlled access for patients, visitors, staff, and authorized vendors.
• Prepare accurate reports and communicate observations, incidents, and policy violations to Allied Universal leadership and site contacts.

Minimum Requirements:

• Possess at least two years of security-related experience.
• Possess an armed guard card or license.
• Possess a Virginia DCJS license.
• CPR and First Aid certification is preferred.
• Be at least 21 years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Participate in industry‑specific security training programs.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
