Job summary

Allied Universal is hiring a Part-Time Security Officer in Pontiac, MI. You will manage access points, verify credentials, monitor cameras, and respond to incidents while delivering professional customer service.

The role offers Fri and Sat 2:00 PM–10:00 PM shifts and access to our shift-claim platform for additional opportunities, within a team focused on safety, integrity, and reliable support.

Qualifications

• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles.
• Be 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• Background check will be conducted as required by law.
• Drug screen required where permitted by law.
• Licensing may be required by state/local laws.
• A valid driver’s license needed for driving roles only.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to employees, visitors, contractors, and delivery personnel at a technology location by carrying out security procedures and site policies.
• Manage access control operations by verifying credentials and directing authorized individuals.
• Monitor access control systems, alarms, cameras, and equipment; report issues per site procedures.
• Respond to incidents calmly and coordinate with site contacts and responders as needed.
• Conduct regular patrols of the location and deter unauthorized access; document observations.

Position Type: Part Time

Pay Rate: $18.68 / Hour

Job Schedule:

Fri: 02:00 PM - 10:00 PM

Sat: 02:00 PM - 10:00 PM

What You'll Do:

• Provide customer service to employees, visitors, contractors, and delivery personnel at a technology location by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities.
• Manage access control operations by verifying credentials, monitoring entry and exit points, maintaining visitor records, and directing authorized individuals to appropriate areas.
• Monitor access control systems, alarms, cameras, and communication equipment; report unusual activity, access issues, and equipment concerns according to site procedures.
• Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, communicating with site contacts and emergency responders as needed.
• Conduct regular and random patrols of the business location, access points, parking areas, and perimeter; document observations and help to deter unauthorized access.

Minimum Requirements:

• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver's license will be required for driving positions only.
