Job summary

Allied Universal is seeking a Security Officer Enhanced Part Time Access Control in Alexandria, VA. This role offers flexible hours with a fixed anchor shift and opportunities to pick up extra shifts across sites to increase earnings.

You will provide customer service, monitor access, respond to incidents, and help maintain security at a food and beverage production location. Eligible candidates must be 18+ and pass a background check. Pay rate is $16.00 per hour.

Qualifications

• Customer service experience is preferred.
• Access control and badge experience is preferred.
• Comfortable using a computer or tablet is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to employees, visitors, vendors, and delivery personnel by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities.
• Respond to incidents, access concerns, alarms, and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, escalating issues according to site procedures.
• Conduct regular and random patrols of the facility, production-adjacent areas, parking areas, exterior perimeter, and access points to deter unauthorized activity and identify security-related concerns.
• Monitor entry and exit activity, verify authorized access, and maintain accurate records of visitors, deliveries, and security-related incidents.
• Report maintenance, environmental, or security-related concerns observed during patrols to site contacts and Allied Universal supervision in accordance with established procedures.

As a Security Officer Enhanced Part Time Access Control in Alexandria, VA, this role is designed to provide reliable, consistent hours at an assigned site with the flexibility for you to earn more by picking‑up additional shifts when it works for you.

Pay Rate: $16.00 / Hour

Job Schedule:

DayTimeSat03:00 AM - 10:00 AM

How This Role Works:

• Fixed-Shift Commitment (“Anchor Shifts”): You will be hired for a designated site and weekly shift that serves as your reliable base schedule. This assignment requires a six (6) month commitment.
• Earn More, Claim-A-Shift Program: In addition to your fixed shift, you may pick‑up extra shifts through our scheduling platform, allowing you to increase earnings and gain experience across multiple sites. Work part‑time hours this week and full‑time the next. It’s all up to you.

This role is ideal for candidates seeking part‑time employment with flexibility, income stability, and opportunities to build‑up to a full‑time schedule of up to 40 hours per week; always with the option to scale back when needed.

Minimum Requirements:

• Customer service experience is preferred.
• Access control and badge experience is preferred.
• Comfortable using a computer or tablet is preferred.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
