Join to apply for the Security Officer - Part-Time role at Chatham University

Chatham University has an immediate opening for a Part-time Security Officer in the University's Public Safety department.

Security Officers within the Department of Public Safety are unarmed and under the direct supervision of the Chief of Police. Uniforms and a yearly uniform allowance will be provided. Candidates must pass an extensive background investigation, drug and alcohol random testing (to include reasonable suspicion and post-accident).

Key Duties and Responsibilities include:

1. Conduct vigilant patrols of all university facilities for suspicious activity, criminal activity, and hazards.
2. Maintain high visibility to deter crime and ensure safety.
3. Respond to emergencies with tact and judgment.
4. Complete incident reports and logs.
5. Provide crowd and traffic control during events or emergencies.
6. Participate in training to enhance skills.
7. Communicate with community members and first responders regarding ongoing incidents.
8. Enforce university policies on access, smoking, and parking, issuing citations as needed.

Qualifications include:

1. High school diploma or equivalent.
2. Valid Pennsylvania Driver's License.
3. Ability to stand or walk for entire shift and lift 50 lbs.
4. Act 235 or prior security experience (preferred).
5. Certification in first aid, CPR, and AED (preferred).

Salary: $21.30 per hour.
