Job summary

Tyson Foods, Inc. is seeking a part-time security associate responsible for the physical security of the facility. The role includes inspecting visitors, vendors, and Team Members, and controlling access to the site.

You will inspect carry-in items and generate investigative reports as needed. Responsibilities include patrolling plant areas, logging truck traffic, and performing preliminary investigations into incidents.

Job description

Job Details: SUMMARY: This position is responsible for the physical security of the facility, including assignments to walking or stationary posts, depending upon the location. The position will require inspection and control of persons and vehicles while entering or leaving the facility.

Specific Duties

• Checking identification of all visitors, vendors, contractors, and Team Members, allowing only authorized personnel into the facility.
• Checking all carry-in items including bags, briefcases, toolboxes, lunchboxes, etc.
• Writing investigative reports.
• Preliminary investigations of accidents, thefts, workplace violence, and other incidents as needed.
• Roving or walking through the plant areas to check physical facility security.
• Log truck traffic during ingress and egress to the facility and inspection of all motor vehicles driven into the plant. Requires a valid drivers' license.
• Must be able to pass a background check.
• Days/Hours - will be discussed in interview. This is a part-time position and no more than 30 hours per week will be worked.

Requirements

• Education: Prefer high school diploma or GED or equivalent
• Experience: Investigative skills helpful but not mandatory.
• Computer Skills: Basic computer skills.
• Communication Skills: Must have excellent interpersonal communication skills and be able to effectively communicate under stressful situations.
• Environment: Must be able and willing to work in both hot and cold temperatures. Temperatures depend on outside climate.
• Other: Be able to work both independently under supervision and have a positive work ethic attitude.

Shift Hours

SHIFT HOURS- 3AM-10AM

Must have a valid driver's license. Must pass a REQUIRED background check.

Preference given to internal qualified candidates currently employed at this facility followed by candidates from other Tyson facilities then external candidates.
