Job summary

Allied Universal is seeking an Overnight Security Officer in Urbandale, IA to patrol and safeguard commercial real estate. You will deliver exemplary customer service to tenants and visitors while maintaining a visible security presence during night shifts.

As part of our team, you will monitor access points, respond to alarms, and document incidents and shift communications. A high school diploma and the ability to pass background checks are required.

Qualifications

• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ for armed roles.
• High school diploma or equivalent is required.
• Background check will be conducted as per laws.
• Drug screening may be required.
• Licensing requirements may apply depending on state/local laws.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to tenants, visitors, vendors, and staff while following site security procedures.
• Conduct regular unarmed patrols of the building and surrounding areas to deter incidents.
• Monitor access points and report anomalies or policy violations per site procedures.
• Respond to incidents calmly and contact appropriate personnel and emergency services when needed.
• Complete activity reports and shift communications accurately in a timely manner.

As an Unarmed Patrol Officer at a commercial real estate location, you will monitor and patrol assigned areas, maintain a visible presence to help deter incidents, and support a welcoming environment for tenants and visitors. What You'll Do:

• Provide customer service to tenants, visitors, vendors, and/or property management personnel while carrying out site-specific security-related procedures and emergency response activities.
• Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols of commercial real estate buildings, parking areas, common areas, entry points, and perimeter locations to help to deter unauthorized activity.
• Monitor access points and report unusual conditions, maintenance concerns, and/or policy violations according to site procedures.
• Respond to incidents, alarms, and critical situations in a calm, professional, problem-solving manner, contacting appropriate personnel and emergency services when needed.
• Complete accurate activity reports, incident documentation, and shift communications in accordance with Allied Universal and site requirements.

Minimum Requirements:

• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
