Job summary

NFM is seeking a Security Officer to provide an authoritative presence to ensure a safe and secure environment, while protecting company property and staff. You will greet customers, assist staff, and respond to incidents.

The role requires flexibility, a valid driver's license, and the ability to pass required trainings within 90 days. Work includes night/weekend hours, with potential shift differential and medical emergencies response.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED preferred.
• Valid driver's license with acceptable driving record.
• Ability to engage customers in a professional manner.
• Flexible to changing environments and situations.
• Stamina to stand for long periods of time.
• Knowledge of Microsoft Office applications.
• Satisfactorily complete NFM Response to Resistance and First Responder training within 90 days of employment.
• Ability to obtain a non-commissioned security officer license within 30 days of employment.
• Ability to work night, weekend and/or early morning hours based on business needs.
• Pre-employment screening includes, but isn't limited to, drug screen and criminal background check.

Responsibilities

• Greet customers, visitors and vendors and assist them in locating staff within the stores.
• Issue electric handicapped shopping carts to customers and provide assistance in obtaining wheel chairs and shopping carts.
• Monitor and properly tag property being brought into the stores.
• React as necessary and assist in handling situations such as shoplifting, medical emergencies and inclement weather.
• Watch facilities and parking areas on foot or in a vehicle; direct traffic during events while enforcing parking regulations.
• Help customers and staff with vehicle breakdowns and lock-outs and retrieve shopping carts from parking areas.
• Conduct preliminary investigations, audits and security surveys and document the findings.

Pay Range: $18.01 - $21.88 hourly PLUS $1/hour shift differential

Job Duties: A Day in the Life

• Greet: Welcome all customers, visitors and vendors and assist them in locating staff within the stores
• Support: Issue electric handicapped shopping carts to customers and provide assistance in obtaining wheel chairs and shopping carts
• Monitor: Examine and properly tag property being brought into the stores
• Assess: React as necessary and assist in handling any situations - shoplifting, medical emergencies and inclement weather
• Patrol: Watch facilities and parking areas on foot or in a vehicle. Direct traffic during special events or heavy customer traffic, while enforcing parking regulations
• Assist: Help customers and staff with vehicle break-downs and lock-outs and retrieve shopping carts from parking areas
