Job summary

Charcuterie Artisans is seeking a security officer to safeguard the facility and personnel. The role includes controlling entry points, processing visitors and deliveries, and conducting patrols to detect hazards.

Responsibilities cover monitoring CCTV, responding to incidents, and maintaining logs. Candidates should have a High School diploma or GED and a valid driver's license; prior security or related experience is preferred.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or G.E.D. required.
• Valid driver's license required.
• Preferably two (2) years of physical security experience or six (6) months in a manufacturing environment or one (1) year in related fields.
• College credits in Security/Management fields may supplement experience as specified.

Responsibilities

• Provides security and safety for designated property and personnel.
• Provides access control for entrances and processing of vehicles and personnel.
• Monitors facility using CCTV and access control devices; conducts patrols.
• Responds to incidents including fire, medical emergencies, bomb threats, and other incidents.
• Prepares logs/reports and communicates with executives and security personnel.

Job description

The hours for this position are Wed-Sun 2pm-10pm. Overtime required as needed.

Provides security and safety for designated property and personnel; observes reports and documents normal activities, irregularities, and incident activities; provides emergency response; provides access control to include processing of vehicles and personnel; conducts foot and/or vehicle tours to check for abnormal conditions; enforcement of company policies and procedures.

Responsibilities

• Provides effective access control to the property entrances including vehicle entrances and personnel entrances
• Challenges personnel who do not have proper access
• Processes visitors, guests, and vendors
• Reads and understands bill of ladings and processes vehicles making deliveries and shipments
• Performs visual machinery checks to ensure they are operating properly
• Operates access control gates both manually and remotely
• Monitors the facility using closed circuit television
• Monitors access control system devices and conducts basic troubleshooting
• Prevents unauthorized access
• Controls the movement of people and vehicles
• Controls parking of the property as required
• Performs interior and exterior vehicle and/or foot patrols essential to property and employee protection
• Reasonably protects the property from fire, theft, vandalism, and unauthorized entry to assure the safety of employees and company assets
• Makes notifications to Executives per established procedures
• Maintains effective communications during normal duties and during incidents
• Checks for unsafe conditions, hazards, security violations, and unauthorized persons
• Monitors and administers security devices (i.e., badging systems, CCTV, etc.)
• Protects evidence or scene of incident in the event of accidents, emergencies, or security investigations; sets up barriers and signage, and provides direction or information to others
• Prepares logs or reports as required for patrol route; writes or types reports or enters information in a computer using standard grammar; inspects security control logs and acts as required
• Observes and reports incidents or suspicious activity to supervisors, company management, life/safety personnel or public safety authorities as appropriate for the circumstances and/or as required
• Responds to incidents including but not limited to fire, medical emergency, bomb threat, flooding, water discharge, elevator emergency, hazardous materials, inclement weather, and other incidents or conditions following procedures established for assignment, by the company, or through training or certification
• Provides investigative support
• Handles confidential information
• Monitors and verifies property removal from facility
• Performs other related duties as required

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or G.E.D. required
• Valid drivers license required
• Preferably two (2) years of physical security experience or
• Six (6) months physical security experience in a manufacturing environment or
• One (1) year in a law enforcement related field or
• One (1) year in the armed forces
• Education can supplement experience under the following conditions:
• College credits must be in the field of Security, Law Enforcement, Firefighting, Management, Human Relations, Information Technology, Psychology, Sociology or Business
• College credits in related field shall be accepted as a supplement for experience using a calculation of twelve (12) credits being equal to six (6) months of experience

$21.80 - $21.80 an hour

Please note this rate includes an additional $2/hr shift differential for 2nd shift.
