Job summary

Allied Universal is seeking an Security Officer Unarmed Hazard Observation Patrol in Johnston, RI to safeguard clients across tech, media, telecom, and more. You will perform routine patrols, deter incidents, and provide excellent customer service while maintaining a visible security presence.

The role is full-time with night shifts from 10:00 PM to 6:00 AM, Monday through Sunday. Requirements include 18+ years, high school diploma, background check, and drug screening; CPR/First Aid is

Qualifications

• CPR/First Aid certification is preferred.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ for armed roles.
• High school diploma or equivalent is required.
• Background check and drug screen as part of employment.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to employees, visitors, vendors, and delivery personnel at a technology-focused business location by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and emergency response activities when appropriate.
• Respond to incidents, access concerns, and critical situations in a calm, professional, problem-solving manner, following established site protocols and reporting requirements.
• Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols throughout office spaces, common areas, parking areas, loading zones, and the perimeter to help identify and report unusual activity or maintenance concerns.
• Monitor access points and visitor activity, assist with credential and entry procedures, and maintain accurate activity, incident, and patrol documentation.
• Communicate professionally with site stakeholders and Allied Universal leadership regarding security-related observations, incidents, and shift handoff information.

What You'll Do

Minimum Requirements

• CPR/First Aid certification is preferred.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver's license will be required for driving positions only.
