Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to visitors, staff, artists, and vendors while following site policies and emergency procedures.
• Conduct regular and random patrols of galleries, exhibition spaces, and surrounding areas to deter incidents and protect artwork.
• Monitor access points and verify authorized entry, reporting concerns to site leadership.
• Respond to incidents calmly, following site procedures and notifying appropriate personnel.
• Maintain activity logs and incident reports; communicate observations to leadership.

As a Security Officer Museum Full Time Patrol Reconnaissance in Long Island City, NY, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Cultural Institutions, and more. As an Unarmed Patrol Officer at a cultural institution, you will monitor and patrol assigned areas, maintain a visible presence to help deter incidents, and support a welcoming environment for visitors, staff, and exhibits. You will provide exceptional customer service, communicate clearly, and respond to security-related concerns with integrity. Position Type: Full Time

Pay Rate: $18.05 - $19.05 / Hour

Job Schedule:

• Mon: 11:30 AM - 06:15 PM
• Thur: 11:30 AM - 06:15 PM
• Fri: 11:30 AM - 06:15 PM
• Sat: 11:30 AM - 06:15 PM
• Sun: 11:30 AM - 06:15 PM

What You'll Do:

• Provide customer service to visitors, staff, artists, and vendors by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and, when appropriate, emergency response activities.
• Conduct regular and random patrols throughout galleries, exhibition spaces, public areas, entrances, and the surrounding perimeter to help identify unusual conditions and help protect artwork and property.
• Monitor access points and visitor activity, verify authorized entry as directed, and report unauthorized access or policy concerns to site leadership.
• Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, following established site procedures and contacting appropriate personnel as needed.
• Maintain accurate activity logs and incident reports, and communicate relevant observations to Allied Universal leadership and site representatives.

Minimum Requirements:

• Possession of a Guard Card/License is preferred.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
