Job summary

Allied Universal in New York, NY is seeking a Security Officer Unarmed Patrol Awareness to protect clients across government facilities and other sites. You will perform regular patrols, maintain a visible presence, and deliver excellent customer service while upholding site policies.

In this full-time, day-evening schedule, you will respond to incidents, monitor entrances, and support operations with professionalism and courtesy.

Qualifications

• Hold a New York State Security Guard License.
• At least 1 year of security-related experience.
• Age 18+ for unarmed roles; 21+ for armed roles.
• Background check and drug screen required.
• Driver's license if required for driving positions.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to clients, visitors, staff, and residents by carrying out security-related procedures and policies.

What You'll Do

• Provide customer service to clients, visitors, staff, and residents by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and emergency response activities as appropriate.
• Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols of assigned areas, building interiors, entrances, perimeters, and surrounding grounds to help to deter unauthorized activity and report unusual conditions.
• Monitor access points and visitor activity; verify authorization in accordance with site procedures and document entries, incidents, and observations accurately.
• Respond to incidents, disturbances, medical emergencies, and other critical situations in a calm, professional, problem-solving manner, notifying appropriate personnel and public agencies as directed.
• Maintain a professional presence at a government human-services location while supporting a respectful environment for individuals accessing services.

Minimum Requirements

• Possess a New York State Security Guard License.
• Have at least 1 year of security-related experience.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
