Job summary

Allied Universal in New York, NY is seeking a Security Officer Unarmed Patrol Alarm Panel Operator to monitor a retail location, assist visitors and staff, and deter incidents with a visible, customer-focused presence.

The role requires physical presence on site, unarmed security duties, and the ability to work a specified evening/morning schedule. Training, team support, and growth opportunities are provided by a leading North American security company.

Qualifications

• At least 1 year of security-related experience.
• Customer service experience is preferred.
• Alarm panel experience is preferred.
• Comfort using a computer or tablet is preferred.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• Background check required by law and company policy.
• Drug screen required where permitted by law.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to customers, employees, and visitors by carrying out security-related procedures and policies.
• Respond to incidents and concerns in a calm, professional manner.
• Conduct regular unarmed patrols of the retail location, including entrances and perimeter areas.
• Deter unauthorized activity by observing and reporting suspicious behavior and safety concerns.
• Document incidents and patrol activities according to site procedures.

Position Type: Full Time

Pay Rate: $24.00 - 25.00 / Hour

Job Schedule:

• Mon 03:00 PM - 10:30 PM
• Fri 07:30 AM - 03:30 PM
• Sat 07:30 AM - 03:30 PM
• Sun 03:00 PM - 10:30 PM

What You'll Do:

• Provide customer service to customers, employees, and visitors by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and, when appropriate, emergency response activities.
• Respond to incidents, customer concerns, and critical situations in a calm, professional, problem-solving manner.
• Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols throughout the retail location, including customer areas, entrances, exterior walkways, and perimeter areas.
• Help to deter unauthorized activity by observing and reporting suspicious behavior, policy violations, and maintenance concerns to appropriate personnel.
• Document incidents, observations, and patrol activities in accordance with site-specific reporting procedures.

Minimum Requirements:

• Have at least 1 year of security-related experience.
• Customer service experience is preferred.
• Alarm panel experience is preferred.
• Comfort using a computer or tablet is preferred.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
