This role offers fixed shifts with potential to pick up additional shifts via our scheduling platform to increase earnings while maintaining reliable hours.

Responsibilities include protecting visitors and staff, monitoring access, responding to incidents, patrolling, and maintaining incident reports.

Qualifications

• 6 months of security-related experience or more.
• Age 18+ for unarmed roles; 21+ for armed roles.
• Must have a high school diploma or equivalent.
• Subject to background investigation according to laws.
• Qualified applicants with criminal histories considered as per laws.
• Subject to a drug screen where permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements may be required by state/local laws.
• Driver's license required for driving positions only.

As a Security Officer Licensing Department in Riverhead, NY, this role is designed to provide reliable, consistent hours at an assigned site with the flexibility for you to earn more by picking-up additional shifts when it works for you.

Pay Rate: $22.74 / Hour

Job Schedule:

Wed: 07:30 AM - 04:00 PM

How This Role Works:

• Fixed-Shift Commitment (“Anchor Shifts”): You will be hired for a designated site and weekly shift that serves as your reliable base schedule. This assignment requires a six (6) month commitment.
• Earn More, Claim-A-Shift Program: In addition to your fixed shift, you may pick-up extra shifts through our scheduling platform, allowing you to increase earnings and gain experience across multiple sites. Work part-time hours this week and full-time the next. It’s all up to you.

This role is ideal for candidates seeking part-time employment with flexibility, income stability, and opportunities to build-up to a full-time schedule of up to 40 hours per week; always with the option to scale back when needed.

Responsibilities:

• Provide customer service to visitors, employees, and members of the public by carrying out site-specific security-related procedures, policies, and emergency response activities at a government motor vehicle services location.
• Monitor access points and visitor activity, verify authorization as directed by site procedures, and report unusual activity or policy concerns to appropriate personnel.
• Respond to incidents, customer concerns, and critical situations in a calm, professional, problem-solving manner, following established reporting and notification protocols.
• Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols of public service areas, offices, parking areas, and the surrounding perimeter to help to deter unauthorized activity and identify security-related concerns.
• Prepare accurate reports and maintain required activity logs, incident documentation, and shift communications in accordance with Allied Universal and site requirements.

Minimum Requirements:

• Have at least 6 months of security-related experience.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
