Allied Universal in Gaithersburg, MD is hiring for a part-time Security Officer - Enhanced position. The role offers fixed shifts at a government site with the option to pick up additional shifts to increase earnings.

Pay rate is $22.09 per hour, with a schedule including Saturday shifts and opportunities to advance to full-time over time. The position emphasizes flexible scheduling, reliable base hours, and the potential to scale up to 40 hours per week.

Formación

• Possess 2+ years of security-related experience.
• A Guard Card or license is preferred.
• Access control and badge experience is preferred.
• Alarm panel experience is preferred.
• Customer service experience is preferred.
• Must be 21 years of age or older
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Responsabilidades

• Provide customer service to visitors, employees, and/or members of the public by carrying out site-specific procedures, access-control processes, and emergency response activities at a government location.
• Respond to incidents, alarms, and critical situations in a calm, professional, problem-solving manner, following established protocols and notifying appropriate personnel.
• Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols of assigned buildings, grounds, parking areas, entrances, and perimeter areas to help deter unauthorized activity and identify potential security-related concerns.
• Monitor access points and visitor activity, verify authorization as directed by site procedures, and maintain accurate activity, incident, and visitor logs.
• Report observed hazards, maintenance concerns, suspicious activity, and security-related incidents to site contacts and/or Allied Universal leadership in accordance with established procedures.

Job Schedule

• Sat: 12:00 PM - 06:00 PM

How This Role Works

• Fixed-Shift Commitment ("Anchor Shifts"): You will be hired for a designated site and weekly shift that serves as your reliable base schedule. This assignment requires a six (6) month commitment.
• Earn More, Claim-A-Shift Program: In addition to your fixed shift, you may pick-up extra shifts through our scheduling platform, allowing you to increase earnings and gain experience across multiple sites. Work part-time hours this week and full-time the next. It’s all up to you.

This role is ideal for candidates seeking part-time employment with flexibility, income stability, and opportunities to build-up to a full-time schedule of up to 40 hours per week; always with the option to scale back when needed.
