SUMMARY: This position is responsible for managing/supervising less than eight (8) full-time security officers for a 24/7 security operation. This person would work under the direction of a Security Chief and/or Plant Safety Manager. This person will coordinate and implement company security policies and procedures and oversee the day-to-day operations of the security program.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Position will also be responsible for establishing and maintaining communication and coordination with other department managers as required.
  • Coordinate with local and state law enforcement agencies and local first responders/emergency services as required.
  • Checking identification of all visitors, vendors, contractors, and Team Members, allowing only authorized personnel into the facility.
  • Checking all carry-in items including bags, briefcases, toolboxes, lunchboxes, etc.
  • Writing investigative reports.
  • Performing preliminary investigations of accidents, thefts, workplace violence, and other incidents as needed.
  • Roving or walking through the plant to check physical facility security.
  • Log truck traffic during ingress and egress to the facility and inspection of all motor vehicles driven into the plant.
  • Switchboard operations, two-way radio communication and intercom equipment.

Requirements:

  • Education: High School diploma or its equivalency required.
  • Experience: 1+ years of supervisory experience required. Prior investigative experience preferred. Necessary training provided for successful applicants.
  • Computer Skills: Basic computer skills are desirable, including a working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications.
  • Communication Skills: Excellent communication skills are a necessity, and applicant must possess the ability to interact respectfully with all Team Members, including Tyson Management.
  • Special Skills: Must have the ability to handle sensitive issues with discretion.
  • Reports to: Safety Manager.
  • Requires a valid drivers' license and must be eighteen years of age or older.
  • Must reside in the United States. Sponsorship is not available.

Pay Range/Rate: $20.15

Any listed amounts represent the base pay range. Additional compensation may be available for this position based on various factors such as shift differentials, standby/on-call, overtime, premiums, extra shift incentives, or bonuses. Pay is just one part of Tyson’s total compensation package.

401(k) & Stock Purchase Plans
Prepare for your future in retirement with our 401(k) Retirement Savings Plan and Stock Purchase Plan. Our 401(k) plan offers both pre-tax and after-tax Roth contributions.

Once you’ve completed a year of service with the company, Tyson will contribute to your retirement savings in the 401(k) Plan with a match equal to 100% of the first 3% of eligible pay you contribute, plus 50% of the next 2 percent of eligible pay you contribute.

Also after one year, Tyson will match 25% of the first 10% of eligible pay you contribute to the Stock Purchase Plan. Your contributions and Tyson’s contributions to the plans are always 100% vested.
