Washington University is seeking a Security Officer to patrol campus parking areas, provide escorts and motorist assists, and enforce parking rules across the university properties in Saint Louis, MO. Performs the primary function of protecting property of members of the Washington University community by patrolling assigned parking areas on campus and providing escorts and motorist assists.
Primary Duties & Responsibilities:
Job Location/Working Conditions Ability to work overtime as directed Ability to work night shifts Ability to handles stress, assigned calls and complaints from the public Ability to drive in local areas during day and night hours and in adverse weather conditions Physical Effort Ability to walk and stand for extended periods of time Ability to climb stairs Ability to lift/lower boxes of material weighing up to 25 pounds Ability to stretch and move weight bearing joints in the process of bending, stooping, kneeling or reaching to assist an injured person Equipment Ability to work a hand-held computerized ticket machine Ability to operate a two-way radio and any and all other equipment necessary to complete the job assignment The above statements are intended to describe the general nature and level of work performed by people assigned to this classification. The salary range reflects base salaries paid for positions in a given job grade across the University. Individual rates within the range will be determined by factors including one's qualifications and performance, equity with others in the department, market rates for positions within the same grade and department budget.
