Job summary

Allied Universal in Birmingham, AL seeks a Security Officer Incident Reporting for educational locations. This part-time role emphasizes customer service, safety, and a visible presence on campus to deter incidents and support a welcoming environment for students, staff, and visitors.

You will monitor assignments, document activities using our reporting tools, respond calmly to incidents, and coordinate with site leadership.

Qualifications

• Customer service experience is preferred.
• Comfortable using a computer or tablet is preferred.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• Allied Universal will conduct a background investigation in accordance with laws.
• A drug screen may be required.
• Licensing requirements depend on state/local laws.
• A valid driver’s license is required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to staff, students, families, and visitors by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and if needed, emergency response activities.
• Respond to incidents, behavioral concerns, and critical situations calmly and report them according to procedures.
• Conduct regular and random patrols of the facility, grounds, entrances, and perimeter to deter unauthorized activity.
• Monitor access points and visitor activity, directing individuals to appropriate areas as needed.
• Document observations and incidents, communicating information to leadership and site contacts.

What You'll Do:

• Provide customer service to staff, students, families, and visitors by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities.
• Respond to incidents, behavioral concerns, and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, following established reporting and notification procedures.
• Conduct regular and random patrols of the educational facility, grounds, entrances, and perimeter to help deter unauthorized activity and identify security-related concerns.
• Monitor access points and visitor activity in accordance with site-specific procedures, directing individuals to appropriate areas as needed.
• Document observations, incidents, and patrol activity accurately and communicate relevant information to Allied Universal leadership and site contacts.

Minimum Requirements:

• Customer service experience is preferred.
• Comfortable using a computer or tablet is preferred.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
