Allied Universal is seeking a Security Officer Enhanced Part Time Licensed Site Patrol in Bessemer, AL. The role offers fixed shifts with the option to pick up additional shifts to increase earnings, at a pay rate of $17.46 per hour.

As a Security Officer Enhanced Part Time, you will provide customer service to employees and visitors, monitor access, respond to incidents, and perform routine patrols across the site.

Qualifications

• Minimum requirement: a guard card or license preferred.
• Must be at least 18 years old for unarmed roles; 21+ for armed roles.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Background check as a condition of employment.
• Drug screen required where permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements subject to state/local laws and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to employees, visitors, contractors, and delivery personnel at a technology, media, and telecommunications location.
• Respond to incidents, alarms, and critical situations following escalation and reporting procedures.
• Conduct regular and random patrols of the facility, including interiors, exteriors, parking, and perimeter areas.
• Monitor access points and verify credentials as directed by site procedures.
• Document patrols, incidents, and security-related activities in required reports.

As a Security Officer Enhanced Part Time Licensed Site Patrol in Bessemer, AL, this role is designed to provide reliable, consistent hours at an assigned site with the flexibility for you to earn more by picking‑up additional shifts when it works for you.

Pay Rate: $17.46 / Hour

Job Schedule: DayTimeTue06:00 AM - 02:00 PM

How This Role Works:

• Fixed-Shift Commitment ("Anchor Shifts"): You will be hired for a designated site and weekly shift that serves as your reliable base schedule. This assignment requires a six (6) month commitment.
• Earn More, Claim-A-Shift Program: In addition to your fixed shift, you may pick‑up extra shifts through our scheduling platform, allowing you to increase earnings and gain experience across multiple sites. Work part‑time hours this week and full‑time the next. It’s all up to you.

This role is ideal for candidates seeking part‑time employment with flexibility, income stability, and opportunities to build‑up to a full‑time schedule of up to 40 hours per week; always with the option to scale back when needed.

Responsibilities:

• Provide customer service to employees, visitors, contractors, and delivery personnel at a technology, media, and telecommunications location by carrying out security‑related procedures, site‑specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities.
• Respond to incidents, access concerns, alarms, and critical situations in a calm, problem‑solving manner, following established escalation and reporting procedures.
• Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols of the facility, including building interiors, exterior areas, parking locations, loading areas, and perimeter points, to help deter unauthorized activity.
• Monitor access points and visitor activity, verify credentials as directed by site procedures, and report unusual conditions or policy violations to the appropriate personnel.
• Document patrols, incidents, observations, and security‑related activities accurately in required reports and communication systems.

Minimum Requirements:

• A guard card or license is preferred.
• Comfort using a computer or tablet is preferred.
• Loss prevention experience is preferred.
• A state, county, or city‑issued security‑related license is preferred.
• Customer service experience is preferred.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
