DHRM seeks a Security Officer III at Eastern State Hospital to maintain a safe environment for patients, staff, and visitors. Officers may be required to handle difficult individuals and perform arrests within authority.
The role is essential personnel, with shifts including nights, weekends, holidays, and potential overtime. The position requires experience in reports/investigation techniques, a valid driver's license, and patrol experience.
To provide a safe environment for patients, staff, and visitors at ESH by handling difficult individuals (i.e. physically control, confine and restrain) during difficult situations. Maintain adequate coverage in order for the Public Safety Department to fulfill its mission statement at Eastern State Hospital. Each officer is sworn by the Court of Williamsburg/James City County and is fully empowered to make an arrest for any State and Local violation.
This position is considered essential personnel and would be required to work in the event of an emergency, pandemic, or facility need. All ESH positions are required to work different shifts to include nights, weekends and holidays, and/or overtime as requested.
