The role you’ll contribute:

The Security Officer II performs security duties through professional and positive interactions with the public, patients, employees, and administrators. Responsibilities include responding to calls, assisting in emergency and non-emergency situations, investigating safety hazards, incidents, and criminal activities, and patrolling designated areas to ensure safety and security. The role requires initiative, judgment, and competence, and involves active participation in customer service and maintaining respectful relationships. Completion of physiological and physical fitness screenings is required.

• Investigates suspicious activity or persons and reports hazards or unusual circumstances.
• Responds to various events, including high vulnerability situations like life-threatening events and natural disasters.
• Participates in activities beyond security operations, such as transport of bodies, patient escort, safety checks, and event setups.
• Responds appropriately to emergency, non-emergency, and alarm calls, using good judgment to determine the cause and take proper action.

Qualifications:

The expertise and experiences needed:

• High School diploma or equivalent.
• Applicable state driver’s license and driving record in accordance with AdventHealth policy.
• International Association for Healthcare Security and Safety (IAHSS) Basic Training certification or equivalent within six months of hire.
• Meets departmental testing requirements (mental, physical, etc.) if applicable.
